Philly Cheese Steak

Philly Cheese Steak

Cooking Time 45 Minutes; Yields 4-6 People

Ingredients
Garlic Aioli
1-2 gloves garlic, microplane or pressed
1/4 cup mayo

Steak Seasoning
3 T kosher salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp paprika

Cheese Steak Filling
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 purple onion, thinly sliced
4-6 buns, halved
10-12 slices provolone or muenster cheese
1 pound top round steak, thinly sliced

Cooking Instructions

Garlic Aioli
1. Place mayo in a small mixing bowl
2. Microplane garlic cloves into the mayo and mix thoroughly, set aside until it is time to build your sandwiches

Steak Seasoning
1. Combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly

2. Sprinkle some of the mixture over the meat.  You won’t use all of it otherwise your meat will be too salty, just do a light coating

Cheese Steak Filling
1. Heat a cast iron griddle over medium heat.  Butter your buns to toast them, and then set aside until it is time to build your sandwiches

2. To your griddle on medium heat, add about 2 T olive oil to pan
3. Thinly slice onions, green bell pepper, red bell pepper.  Add your onions first to your griddle

4. Once your onions are halfway cooked add your sliced peppers and a pinch of salt

5. After your veggies have finished cooking remove them from the heat
6. Add your seasoned meat to the hot pan, WARNING it will cook super fast so be ready to build sandwiches

7. Once the meat is almost finished cooking add your cooked veggies to the meat
8. I like to section out my veggie/meat mixture on my griddle and add the cheese to the sectioned out area (two pieces of cheese per sectioned out meat and veggie area).  This allows my cheese to melt prior to adding it to my bread.

9. While the cheese is melting add some of your garlic aioli to your buns.

10. Remove your melted filling to place on your buns and serve up
11. Enjoy!!!
