- Yes y'all I'm a Kansas girl through and through. I still fly back to KC to work in the Medical ICU at University of Kansas Hospital. The perks of flying back every month is getting to enjoy some of my favorite foods and locations in KC. Grinders, crossroads location, is by far one of my favorites. They have great food, concerts in the summer, and just kind of an eclectic way about them.
- Hands down my favorite thing to order is the "Le Hog." Listen no offense to NYC and their pizza but KC has them 100% beat with this baby! It is a creamy white sauce pie with bacon, Canadian bacon, ham, and yes meatballs. What makes the eating experience even better is, when it is a nice day outside you can enjoy their patio while stuffing your face!
- My second favorite...again this isn't a healthy meal at all...is their "South Philly Cheesesteak." Man my mouth is watering just writing up this blog. Also, let me save you time when ordering...get the grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and cheese whiz. Thank goodness I go back to KC in a couple weeks, I've created a graving after writing this post! ***Life Experience Rant: Listen I've had Pats and Genos while in Philadelphia watching Tanner play. Not only did we have to wait forever in line, it didn't surpass Grinders Philly in my book. Again, the experience was great at Philly but I much prefer to not stand in line forever to enjoy a Philly Cheesesteak. I will say Grinders portions are HUGE so defiantly share with a friend. My cousin and I split this baby, and we were stuffed to the brim after this lunch!
- These are just a couple of my favorites. There is so much to this menu, so I encourage anyone in the KC area to give it a try. The link to the restaurant and location will be listed below! ***Side Note: Grinders has also been on Triple D (Diners, Drive ins, and Dives) on Food Network.
