Grandma Carlson’s Sugar Cookies

Cooking Time 8-10 minutes; Yields 2 dozen

Ingredients
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cup butter, room temp
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
4 T milk
1 T vanilla

Cooking Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. Mix all dry ingredient together flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg
3. Place your mixer on medium speed and mix all wet ingredients; butter, egg, sugar, milk
4. Once all the wet ingredients are mixed together, slowly add your dry ingredients
5. Finally add the vanilla to the cookie mixture
6. Once the cookie mixture is combined, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes  It’s easier to handle when you cool the dough
7. Flour surface before rolling cookie dough out
8. Roll out the cookie dough, about to a 1/2 inch thick, and use cookie cutters for the perfect shapes
9. Bake 8-10 minutes (For my oven 8 minutes is perfect for baking time)
10. Enjoy!!!
***TIP: Use butter cream frosting recipe to frost cookies (see attached link)
