Biscuits and Gravy….Breakfast of Champions!!!

Biscuits and Gravy

Cooking Time 20 Minutes; Yields 4-6 People

Ingredients
Biscuits
1 package Pillsbury Grands Homestyle Biscuits
4 T butter; melted

Gravy
1 pound jimmy deans sausage; browned
3 T flour
2 cups milk
salt and pepper to taste
crystal’s hot sauce (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Biscuits
1. Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees F
2. Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper and place biscuits onto the parchment paper (this prevent the biscuits from burning and sticking to the pan)

3. Cook the biscuits according to the instructions (normally 12-15 minutes)
4. With five minutes, and one minute left of cooking I like to brush melted butter on top of the biscuits to make them buttery soft. (To sum up, brush two different times with butter on the biscuits)

(5 minutes left of cooking)
(1 minute left of cooking)

5. Remove the biscuits when the tops are golden brown

Gravy
1. Place a large sauce pan over medium heat and add your sausage to the pan
2. Break up the sausage and finish browning

3. Once your sausage is browned, sprinkle flour over the sausage

4. Allow your flour to cook into the sausage for 1-2 minutes
5. Turn your heat down to medium low and add your milk

6. Continue to stir your sausage and milk mixture, it will slowly thicken up and form a gravy
7. Now that the gravy has thickened up turn the heat to low and add salt and pepper to taste.  I personally like lots and lots of pepper in my gravy

8. Remove your biscuits from the oven, half them, and spoon some of your tasty sausage gravy over your biscuit
9. If you are like me and enjoy a little spice, add a little hot sauce over the gravy.  I’m not going to lie it will add a little spice in your morning!

10. Enjoy!!!
