Homemade Chewy Brownies
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Also, find a 9x9 (square) baking dish and spray with pam or whatever non-stick cooking spray you prefer
  2. If you have a standing mixer (kitchen aid) place your flour, baking powder, and salt into the mixing bowl. Give it a little mix to combine some of the dry ingredients. If you don't have a standing mixer, no worries just us a regular mixing bowl and a hand held beater to combine ingredients.
  3. In a separate, microwave safe, bowl add your butter. I normally start with 10 seconds in the microwave and go from there when melting butter.
  4. After your butter is melted mix in the cocoa powder until everything is combined thoroughly.
  5. In your third bowl (sorry this creates dirty dishes) whisk together eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Once that is combine add the melted butter mixture to the egg mixture. Combine all ingredients until it reaches a smooth chocolate mixture.
  6. Finally, lets combined our new chocolate mixture with our dry ingredients sitting in your kitchen aid mixing bowl. Congrats, you just made homemade brownie batter!!!
  7. Pour the batter into your 9x9 baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes. ***TIP: DO NOT OVER BAKE!! Even if the brownies seem a little undercooked, it is fine. They will harden in the baking dish once it cools down. Nobody wants to eat a hockey puck for a brownie so DO NOT over bake them!
  8. When the brownies have cooled cut into your desired serving sizes. These are great for birthday parties, school parties, just to eat because you like brownies, or even a good tailgate dessert!
  9. Enjoy!!!

Oh my gosh! I made these yesterday. I did add some pecans. They are super delicious!!!! They make the store bought mix taste like cardboard! My husband… a brownie aficionado said, ” There are brownies and then there’s these, these are delicious!” Thanks, Kara! Excellent 8 out of 5 Stars!!! dj

Yeah!!! These are ALWAYS made for Tanner’s teammates during camp. I swear they are easier than the box brownies. So glad y’all liked them! xoxo

Hey y'all! I'm an ICU nurse by day and busy wife by night. Football consumes my life...my husband plays in the NFL so I'm always hosting our "football family" for dinner too. I'm obsessed with butter, my dogs, and tailgating. Welcome to my playbook for the kitchen!
